The preform mold is a molding method in which a molten material is injected into a mold by an injection machine, and the preform is placed in a blow mold, and air is introduced to inflate the preform.

Part of the preform mold

Injection molds are mainly composed of three parts: casting system, molding parts and structural parts. The pouring system and the molded part are the parts that are in direct contact with the plastic, and are the most complicated and varied parts in the mold, and the parts with the highest processing precision are required.

Principle of preform mold

The powdered or granular plastic is fed into the heated barrel from the hopper of the injection machine; after heating and melt plasticizing, the material is compressed and moved forward by the thrust of the plunger or the screw, through the nozzle at the front end of the barrel, The speed is quickly injected into the closed mold cavity with a lower temperature; after a certain period of cooling and setting, the mold is opened to obtain the product.

Advantages of preform mold

The preforms will largely determine the quality of the plastic bottles, and the importance of plastic bottles is self-evident. The functions of the injection molding machine mainly include: the ability to install a mold of a given size, provide sufficient mold clamping force, operate according to the cycle time requirements, plasticize enough materials, and the like.

Several aspects to be aware of when selecting a preform mold

1. Product weight: Different weight products have different requirements for hot runners.

2. Cycle time: A fast production cycle means that the requirements for the nozzle will be high.

3. Gate: In order to maintain good thermal balance in each molding cycle, the tip of the hot runner must have the function of melting the material and cooling the seal.

4. Nozzles: Nozzles can be distinguished by size, temperature distribution, physical properties, materials used, ease of maintenance, and price.

5. Flow path: The use of the hot runner system not only saves raw materials, but also eliminates the need to manually remove the handle by hand, mechanical or other means.

6. Product design: In order to ensure a smooth appearance of the product at the end of the molding, those factors must be considered in its structural design.

7. Temperature control: Each nozzle must be connected to a relatively complex temperature controller.
